About the event

Announing HOBA House's FIRST annual print exchange! The exchange is open to artists of all backgrounds and levels. A print exchange is a wonderful way to collect prints from your fellow artists while also sharing your own talents. We cannot wait to see what you all have to offer!

The prints should all be new original prints made as an edition for this event only. The size of the edition will depend on how many artists register for this event. Registration closes Feburary 7th, at which point an email will be sent out to all registered artists regaurding the size of the addition. Expect for this number to be around 26-36 prints.

Each artist will be responsible for creating enough prints for each person in the exchange to have one. In addition you will need to produce a print that will go to HOBA to be on display throughout the month of March and then become part of HOBA's private collection AND five addtional prints to be sold to the public during the print exhibition. All prints will be priced the same (TBD). HOBA will take a 25% commission on any prints sold during the exhibition. Any unsold prints will be returned to the artist. 

Prints should be on an 8x10 surface, you can do a full bleed print, or something smaller, but the size of the paper will need to stay consistent. 8x10 will make it easy for potential customers to frame the work themselves. Prints should be signed, titled, and numbered as an edition. 

The theme for this years print exchange is "homegrown." Artists may interpret the theme any way that they like. 

Any form of traditional and digital printmaking will be excepted. This includes mono printing. Photography prints and reproductions of 2D works will NOT be accepted. 

The exchange will take place on March 1st at HOBA house at 6PM. Light refreshments will be served (feel free to bring a dish to share). Additionally, a closing reception for the exhibition will take place on March 29th from 6PM to 8PM. 

Cannot join us in Louisville for the exchange? Out of town artists are free to participate as well! We just ask that artists pay for ALL shipping costs assosiated with the exchange and that prints are shipped in time to arive for the March 1st exchange date. PLEASE NOTE: By registering for  this event you are entering into an agreement to produce a series of prints. For this event to be sucsessful EVERYONE who registers MUST participate. Because HOBA House is committed to being an accessable art space for artists of all economic backgrounds the fee for this event is minimal. However, that does not mean that you should register for this event lightly. Please be sure that you can produce work for this event before registering.
